Privacy policy

xe.gr respects the privacy and personal data of each visitor. Each time you use any of the xe.gr websites or applications («www.xe.gr», «my.xe.gr», «pro2.xe.gr» και «support.xe.gr» as well as the applications for mobile phones or tablets on iOS, Android and Windows Phone - collectively referred to as xe), you commit that you have carefully read this document, which we will call for brevity "Privacy Policy", and that you have consented to it. In some cases you will be prompt to consent to "Privacy Policy" at areas of interest such as areas of personal data collection.


Below we will clearly explain the areas, processes and purpose of collecting your personal data, how we process it, how we protect it and which are your rights.

1. Where we collect your data



We collect your personal information only with your written consent. xe.gr does not share this information with third parties.

The areas in which your information is collected are:

Upon signing up, as a user or customer, for the use of our free of charge or paid services.

Upon subscription for receiving our newsletters or informative emails.

Upon contacting our call center for the purpose of placing an ad on xe.gr.

Upon contacting our support department (support.xe.gr or our call center) to receive assistance.

Upon requesting to entrust your property to an agent, sending CVs or requesting to assign your property or vehicle search to a professional, using the form found in the respective category.

2. Which data you provide us with



In accordance with the Terms of Use, we will ask you to provide us with an email address for signing up, which will need to be verified.

If you wish to place an ad, we will additionally ask you to provide us with a contact phone number, which also needs to be verified in order to confirm that it belongs to you.

You will probably be asked to provide us additional details such as VAT number and address in case you request an invoice or, in case of specific listings, confirmation of your professional status. At any time you may request to have your details deleted.

Optionally, you may provide us with information such as your name, age, gender, occupation, and the area in which you live, which we will use to provide you with updates and promotions from xe.gr and/or its partners that may be of interest to you. You may request to have your information deleted at any time.

Your age will also be requested if you attempt to access sensitive adult content. In order for you to use certain map services, we will ask you to enable the location tracking service, which will allow us to obtain information about your current location. You may withdraw your consent at any time.

Finally, if you wish, you can sign up using your Facebook account. Apart from your Facebook email address, which we will receive and use in order to set up your account in our systems, we do not collect any other data from your Facebook account. Facebook will also request your confirmation for this action. You can therefore use your Facebook account to quickly connect to xe.gr.

3. How we use your data



We use them in order to be able:

to contact you by sending you automated messages regarding possible issues related to your account (e.g. ad expiration, reset your password, etc.).You will be receiving these messages as long as you have an active account with us since they are considered essential for the smooth functioning of the systems and therefore cannot be deactivated.

to send you informative messages, via email and / or sms, with offers from xe.gr and / or our partners. We also use them to send you news, product updates or topics of your interest. You may opt out of receiving these messages at any time.

to send you Notification Alerts that you have activated yourself and that relate to searches you have saved and are of interest to you. The information we keep about your saved searches is the filters you have selected. You can change their frequency or stop receiving them whenever you wish.

4. Cookies



The Company may use cookies to facilitate and operate xe.gr services through xe.gr.

What are cookies?


Cookies are small text files containing information that are stored by a website's server on a visitor's/user's terminal device (computer, mobile phone, etc.) while they are browsing the website. The website retrieves this information on each visit in order to provide related services.

Under current legislation (art. 4(5) of the Law 3471/2006), the storage of or access to information stored on the user's terminal equipment is only permitted if the user has given his or her consent after being provided with clear and comprehensive information. Logging from Third-Party Websites

If you choose to log in or sign up for xe.gr using a third-party service, such as Google, an account will be created on xe.gr using the same email address associated with your third-party account. By agreeing to provide this information, xe.gr and Google will authenticate you and redirect you to xe.gr. When logging in with your Google account, Google will use cookies for authentication as a Google user.
By accessing xe.gr through your Google account, you understand that certain Personal Data will be shared by Google to authenticate your access securely. If you no longer wish to share data with xe.gr from your Google account, you can adjust your Google account settings. 5. Other data linked to your account.



Saved searches, Notes and Saved Ad Lists


We keep records of your saved searches, your favorite or hidden listings, and your personal notes. All data linked to your account are only visible by you and only when you are logged in. You can edit or permanently delete them.

Questionnaires / Competitions


We may ask you to voluntarily participate in surveys to help us improve our services. Your participation in these may be associated with a prize.

In the event that xe.gr works with third parties to conduct a contest, there will be clear terms and conditions regarding the use of the information you provide to us, which you will be asked to consent to before participating.

Transactions


We keep a record of your transactions as required by current legislation.

Assistance


We keep the history of communication related to assistance provided through support.xe.gr. The platform we use is crisp (crisp.chat). Our goal is:

To provide you with the best service, as we have a complete picture of the problem you are facing, every time you contact us.

To identify common problems among users/customers for the most efficient and quickest solution.

To update the database of questions and answers to help other users with similar problems.

Device/connection details


We are able to be aware of information such as your IP address, the software you use, your login device and which navigation path you follow on our websites or applications. To achieve this we use various technologies, e.g. by using cookies or through third party platforms. These third-party platforms include but are not limited to Google.

We use this information in order to:

To help us improve our services by designing the best browsing experience based on how you use the site.

6. Data that you choose to display on xe.gr



The content of your ad.

The phone and contact email that will accompany your published ad (if you choose to do so). These details must be verified to confirm they belong to you.
The above information will be published on the website, mobile apps and/or, if you choose, on partner websites. In each case, you may select which of the above media your information will be published in, and you may request to have your information removed at any time.

7. Information you choose to forward to third parties through the xe.gr platform



By filling out a form of interest for ads listed on xe.gr, your contact information is shared with the advertiser.

In addition, and with regard to job advertisements, if you choose to attach your CV to the form of interest sent, it will also be sent to the respective advertiser.

Finally, the respective information is shared when you submit a property entrustment request, or when you entrust your search for a property or vehicle to a professional.

8. System messages



xe.gr sends you messages that are exclusively related to your account. These messages may concern the recovery of your password in order to keep having access to the services of xe.gr or information about subscription expiration, etc.

You cannot stop receiving these messages unless you deactivate or delete your account.

9. Notifications



xe.gr will send you messages which you have requested to receive based on your personal search criteria as you have defined them. You can opt out of receiving these messages individually or in their entirety.

By logging in to my.xe.gr > My account > Communication settings > Notifications
Via support.xe.gr.

Opting out of notifications does not mean that you will stop receiving marketing messages or system messages relating to your account (see Section 9).

10. Marketing messages / Updates



xe.gr will ask for your permission to send you marketing messages on various topics of interest, offers, competitions on its behalf and/or on behalf of its partners, without providing them with this data for their own use. You can opt-out and stop receiving these messages at any time.

You can opt-out:

By logging into my.xe.gr > My account > Communication settings > Updates

By following the instructions included in the respective message (unsubscribe link in the email newsletters).

By contacting support.xe.gr, requesting to be removed from the respective e-mail newsletter mailing list.

Opting out from receiving marketing messages does not mean that you will stop receiving system messages or notifications you have opted to receive (see paragraph 8).

11. Advertisement



During your visit on xe.gr, advertising banners from our partner advertising networks (e.g. Google) or other third parties might be displayed to you.

These banners may be associated with information that we have cached in your browser, using cookies, during your visit to xe.gr. This information may relate to, for example, which sections you visited, a previous search, etc.

If you do not wish to have your experience interrupted by advertising messages, xe.gr offers you the possibility to sign in to an environment without displaying advertising banners by paying a monthly fee.

12. Data Storage



We keep your data in our database for as long as you have an active account with us and as long as it is required to provide you with services, such as contacting support.xe.gr.

We will need to keep some of the information you have linked to your account, such as phone numbers or emails, even after you have deleted them for security or other legal reasons. To permanently remove these details from your account, please contact support.xe.gr.

13. Where do we store your data?



Your data is stored in safe computing environments that follow all modern security protocols.


No credit card information is saved in any way.

14. Data Processing



xe.gr reserves the right to use data linked to your account (e.g. ads) for statistical, research, or advertising purposes in a way that does not permit the identification or disclosure of the person to whom they relate.

After being de-identified from natural persons, the data may be processed by third parties for the aforementioned purposes.

15. Safety



xe.gr assumes responsibility for storing, maintaining, and protecting your personal data in accordance with the provisions of Law 2472/1997 and Law 3471/2006, as applicable, as well as the new European General Data Protection Regulation (EU) 2016/679 and Directive 95/46/EC on the protection of personal data.

xe.gr also guarantees its partners' compliance with the correct use of your personal data and commits not to store or process them after a request for deletion, unless this is prohibited by applicable law.

xe.gr is not responsible for any account name or password disclosed by the User. If you disclose your password to someone else (such as a family member, your employer, or a website), they will have access to your account and personal information. The security of your account depends on keeping your account password confidential. Enabling 2-step verification (2FA) is recommended and will help you further protect your account.

16. Your rights



You reserve the right to be informed about your personal data.

Upon your request to support.xe.gr, we will provide you with information about the personal data we hold about you.

You have the right to edit your personal data (correction, completion). You can do this by logging into my.xe.gr > My Account or by sending us a request via support.xe.gr.

You have the right to request the deletion of your personal data by sending a request to support.xe.gr. Please note that we are obliged to keep some of your personal data for a certain period of time because this data is required to fulfill our contractual obligations towards you or because of legal requirements.

You have the right to withdraw your consent to receive updates by logging into my.xe.gr > My Account > Contact Preferences or by sending a request to be removed from the marketing contact list to support.xe.gr.

17. Privacy Policy Revisions



xe.gr reserves the right to amend this Agreement at its sole discretion. In the event of any amendments, it will post the date of the amendment or revision in this statement. The updated Privacy Policy will be effective as of that date. We encourage you to check this policy periodically for updates. This statement was last updated on 5/24/2018.
